    Description

    Here is a great microscope for digital photomicroscopy.   Note the shell casing....the stage as well as the body tube and vertical illuminator can be adjusted to handle samples up to about 50mm plus in size.  The samples should be solid (not transparent) and plano parallel to the optical axis of the brightfield vertical illuminator.  May be adapted for polarized light of minerals.  Samples should be somewhat reflective.    The Volpi (Swiss) 12V100W quartz halogen lamp includes a spare bulb and a flexible 36" fiber optic guide.  Great light power compared to the original incandescent bulb normally supplied in this era.   Adapt your cell phone camera or DSLR/MILC.   Monocular tube with 10x ocular.
    XY mechanical stage with top mount knobs positioned front-right.  Coaxial vertical illuminator has smooth operation aperture and field diaphragms.  Slot for polarizer (not included).    Tube length 215mm corrected.  Quad nosepiece with 215mm B&L glass (samples without coverglass):   8x, 16x (10.5mm focal length) and 40x.  All dry, clear and clean.
